20 I pray not only for these,
but also for those who believe in Me
through their message.
21 May they all be one,
as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You.
May they also be one in Us,
so the world may believe You sent Me.
22 I have given them the glory You have given Me.
May they be one as We are one.
23 I am in them and You are in Me.
May they be made completely one,
so the world may know You have sent Me
and have loved them as You have loved Me.
24 Father,
I desire those You have given Me
to be with Me where I am.
Then they will see My glory,
which You have given Me
because You loved Me before the world’s foundation.
25 Righteous Father!
The world has not known You.
However, I have known You,
and these have known that You sent Me.
26 I made Your name known to them
and will make it known,
so the love You have loved Me with
may be in them and I may be in them.
That means ALL believers!
MOG East Texas is an organization of men who follow Jesus. Many of us have different ways that we feel comfortable worshiping, and we have our church families. We have particular buildings in which we prefer to meet. Our styles of worship may be different, we may have different rituals, and we may even believe slightly different things. But Jesus prayed that ALL believers would be one. That means ALL BELIEVERS. Let's check out another prayer of Jesus from Matthew 6 (HCSB):
The Model Prayer 9 “Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as holy. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
AND the Great Commission says...
18 Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
1 Timothy 2 tells us: 8 Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.
So the kingdom will be filled with people of all nations. That means it will be unbelievably diverse. Note that in the Lord's Prayer, Jesus says we should pray for God's kingdom to come to earth as it is in heaven. So for God's kingdom to come to earth, it has to come here...that's where the earth is...here. So, then, we should be able to worship with the church family to whom God has called us but still be one in obeying the great commission. That's what MOG is all about. Our focus is in the local community. Our prayer is that men of God from multiple churches, even churches of different denominations would come together for the common good of serving the community SO THAT GOD'S NAME WILL BE GLORIFIED. MOG has no interest in growing any church family in particular, but MOG does want to grow the bride of Christ...THE Church. MOG has no interest in gratifying itself or its members. Rather, as John the Baptist said, MOG must decrease so that He may increase. MOG intend to become servants. MOG include all races, nationalities, and ethnicities. If we partner with a diverse group, we have a better chance at reaching a more diverse audience.
MOG was created to facilitate Christian men of East Texas in getting some skin in the game. We invest in our community. We are commanded to love our communities and serve those who have little or no means. MOG does not exist particularly to raise money to give to somebody else to do something. We exist to facilitate Christian men of East Texas to spend their own money, time, and resources to bring God's kingdom to East Texas through providing for the needs of the local community. This website is a platform through which the Men of God in East Texas may communicate needs and prayer requests so that when a need requires more man power / man hours / money / tools / skills than one person or one church family can provide, the Men of God can come together, pool resources, and serve together.
MOG also host and promote fellowship opportunities. We will serve together more efficiently when we are friends. We will be held accountable more effectively when we are friends. We will be more effective at loving others if we love each other.
Jesus commanded us in Matthew 22 to love our neighbor.
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
In Matthew 25, we are told the following:
35 For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you took care of Me; I was in prison and you visited Me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?’ 40 “And the King will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
So MOG and this website exist to facilitate the Christian men of East Texas to think outside of the walls of your sanctuary and look to the community. Round up the troops, get some skin in the game, and let's go SERVE!
